Located
50 miles southeast of Lander, Wyoming, this 200 acre +- hideout has it all, just
take a look at what it has to offer: - Cottonwood
Creek headwaters are on the property and the creek flows diagonally through the
property, year around.
- Located
on the Continental divide.
- Wild
horse population that frequents the ranch.
- Excellent
elk, mule deer and antelope hunting.
- Completely
surrounded by 500,000 acres of federal (BLM) land with own resident elk herd.
- Abundant
Sage Grouse populations.
- Coyote,
bobcat, and mountain lion.
- Good
access off of public road.
- Near
the Sweetwater river which is an excellent trout fishery.
For
the last couple of years, this 200 acre property qualified for 2 landowner elk
tags. In order to qualify for a landowner elk tag, the property must have at least
2,000 elk days throughout the year. The game and fish conducts a study and based
on their study, they estimate how many elk have been on the land. This land qualified
because it has the best cover and about the only water around, so its a natural
place for elk to hang around.
This
area has a 3% chance for a non-resident to receive an elk license. Land that qualifies
for landowner tags are gauranteed to receive elk licenses! This
is the bull that I shot in 2007. In two days of hunting, we saw over 70 head of
elk, and several good bulls. |
Crooks Mountain and Green Mountain are well known for their elk hunting with several
elk currently in the Boone and Crocket books coming from this area. There is a
large population of resident elk in the area, and some of them are real trophies!
$1200/acre OBO If
